Pokémon Legends Arceus: what’s the story? 

This adventure is set in a long ago era where Pokémon and humans rarely existed side by side. Called the land of Hisui, but soon to become the Sinnoh region, the environment consists of many different landscapes and natural features, playing home to different kinds of Pokémon. 

 Your job is to survey, catch and research wild Pokémon to complete the region’s first Pokedex, which you will do from your base in Jubilife village. You’ll set off from here on each survey task and return when done ready for your next assignment.  

 During your travels you will come across noble Pokémon who will be key to the story and the people of the Hisui region, who respect and look after the special Pokémon. 

Pokémon Legends Arceus: gameplay 

Finding Pokémon is your first challenge. As some you will only see under certain weather conditions or times of day you’ll need to tailor your approach to each Pokémon, being ready for attack or to catch them as they flee. As you battle the Pokémon to try and catch them, you’ll probably notice that the gameplay is a little different to previous games as rather than each participating Pokémon taking one action per turn, they can now take multiple turns in a row, based on their stats and other factors, which can lead to some interesting attacks.  

 The main thing is to be prepared, as you might also have to battle the wardens protecting Pokémon. 

 Or, you could just catch Pokémon using a Poké Ball, by getting close enough and perfecting your aim. Catching them is not enough to complete the Pokédex, as you’ll need to study and research each Pokémon to successfully complete its Pokédex entry.  

 Use the base camps to rest and recover if you undergo damage and use your Arc Phone to help guide you on your journey.
