Synopsis:

Based on a true story, Ford v Ferrari follows the fierce rivalry between Ford Motor Company and Ferrari during the 1960s, as Ford attempts to create the ultimate racing car to win the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France.

Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon), a former race car driver turned car designer, is tasked with building a car that will beat Ferrari at Le Mans. Shelby enlists the help of Ken Miles (Christian Bale), a brilliant but volatile British driver with an unmatched knowledge of cars and racing. Despite Shelby’s success in the world of motorsport, Ford’s CEO Henry Ford II (Tracy Letts) is under immense pressure to deliver a victory that will boost the company’s image and profits.

As Ford throws its weight behind the project, the relationship between Shelby and Miles becomes increasingly strained, with Miles’ unorthodox driving style and strong personality often clashing with Ford’s corporate ambitions. Their journey is full of technical challenges, corporate sabotage, and personal struggles, but the two men remain determined to push the boundaries of engineering and risk everything to compete at Le Mans.

The film culminates in a dramatic showdown at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the fate of their dreams and careers is decided in one of the most iconic moments in motorsport history.
