Synopsis:

Casino is a gripping, high-stakes crime drama that delves into the world of Las Vegas casinos in the 1970s and 1980s, focusing on the power dynamics, corruption, and violence that underpin the glittering façade of the gambling industry. The film, based on real events, is centered around three central characters whose lives become inextricably linked through ambition, greed, and betrayal.

Sam "Ace" Rothstein (Robert De Niro), a meticulous and calculating gambler, is chosen by the Chicago Mafia to run the high-profile Tangiers casino in Las Vegas. His expertise in gambling and ability to run the casino efficiently make him a valuable asset to the Mob, but his rise to power comes with personal and professional challenges. While Sam is an expert at making money, his weakness is his emotional attachment to Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone), whom he marries. Ginger's past and her tumultuous relationship with Sam add emotional tension to an otherwise cold, business-driven world.

Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci), a violent and unpredictable mob enforcer, is sent to Vegas to keep an eye on Sam and make sure the casino runs smoothly. However, Nicky’s aggressive methods and lack of discretion soon put both himself and the casino at risk. His volatile behavior, combined with the increasing corruption within the Mob, leads to a series of violent and destructive events that spiral out of control.

As the casino becomes more profitable, the greed, treachery, and betrayal within both the criminal and personal realms start to tear the characters apart. The film unfolds with a sense of inevitable doom as personal and professional lives collide, resulting in a dark commentary on the dangerous allure of power, wealth, and corruption.
